FAQ

FAQ: Screensaver FAQ

What platforms will it run on?
Our screen savers run on Windows XP and Windows Vista. Currently they are not supported under Windows Vista x64.

Will the screen saver work on Windows Vista x64?
Yes! The screensaver now works (quite well) on Windows Vista x64. The license activation issue has been resolved. Efforts are being made to get an official 64 bit only version out soon.

Why does the installer ask to install the Visual C++ 2008 redistributable and Microsoft Directx?
The binaries were built using the latest SDKs available. The screensavers require these two software packages to run.

I already have DirectX installed. Do I need to install it?
Most likely yes. The screensavers are built against the August 2008 DirectX SDK and most computers do not have this installed. The DirectX setup wizard will only update DirectX if necessary.

What else is needed to run?
You will need at least the .NET Framework 2.0 installed. You can get this from Windows Update. You also need to get the latest video driver for your video card from either nVidia, ATI, or Intel.

My registration code doesn't work. What do I do?
If you order any screensaver and your license key doesn't work, it is most likely you have a special character in your name. This is because Unicode characters are not supported currently. This is most prevalent in names outside the U.S. If this happens to you please email jeffrey@xanist.com to have a new key issued to you.
